Our Steps to Success

Scholarly Connections’s coaches have proven track records of helping students achieve their goal test scores across a variety of baseline scores. From choosing the correct test and determining a test-taking timeline to studying for the exam, our coaches follow these five steps to ensure students’ success in reaching their goal scores.

1

Coaches collaborate closely with their students to identify the ideal starting point for standardized test preparation, taking into consideration the student's academic history, availability, extracurricular commitments, personal learning style, and any unique requirements or goals they may have for the standardized tests.

Determining the Optimal Testing Timeline

2

We assess the student’s baseline SAT and ACT scores, and if you don't have one, we provide both SAT and ACT simulated practice test to diagnose their strengths and weaknesses for each section.

SAT & ACT Baseline Assessment and Diagnosis

3

At the heart of our program, students and coaches collaborate to enhance test readiness. Together, they thoroughly review previous homework assignments and delve into comprehensive test content, including math, science (ACT), grammar, and reading sections.

We not only focus on mastering content but also on pacing and test-taking strategies. Custom-designed homework assignments, consisting of practice test sections, drills, exercises, and vocabulary, ensure both content and test-taking skills mastery. Each session concludes with a detailed report for parents. Our approach is designed to equip students with confidence in answering every question when they walk into the ACT or SAT, ensuring we've done our job.

Executing the Testing Plan

4

Our simulated tests are designed to eliminate students’ anxiety, giving them the confidence of knowing exactly what to expect on test day. They also give students the opportunity to develop best practices around test-taking to improve their stamina, pacing, and strategy. You can sign up for a private administration or a group testing date, both of which take place one per month.

Simulated Tests to Prepare for the Official Exam

5

We advise our students to take the exam two to three times in order to reach their target score.
